Terms of service

The terms on which Horizona Limited provides access to CPT courses.

1. Who we are

CPT is operated by Horizona Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of cpt.com.hk and the courses available on it. By creating an account you agree to them.

2. Your account

You need an account to enrol in a course. You must give accurate details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Give your name as it should appear on a certificate. Certificates record the name on your account at the moment of issue. We can correct genuine errors, but we will not reissue a certificate in a different person's name.

Accounts are personal. Do not share your login. Access is granted to one individual, and certificates are evidence about that individual.

3. Access to courses

Enrolling grants you a personal, non-transferable right to view that course for as long as we offer it. We do not currently time-limit access, and we have no intention of doing so, but we cannot promise a course will remain available indefinitely — material can be withdrawn when the law it describes changes substantially.

4. Fees

Course fees are shown before you enrol and are one-off — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Some courses are free with registration. Fees are in Hong Kong dollars and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.

5. Refunds

If you have not started watching a course, contact us and we will refund it.

Once you have accessed the recording we generally cannot refund it, because the material has been delivered. If a course is materially not as described, or a technical fault on our side prevents you completing it, tell us and we will put it right — by fixing the problem, or by refunding you.

Nothing here affects rights you have under Hong Kong law.

6. Assessments and certificates

Each assessment draws questions at random from a larger bank. The pass mark is stated on the course. There is no limit on attempts and no additional charge for retaking one.

Passing issues a Certificate of Attendance recording your name, the course, the CPT hours, the date, and a unique reference.

Certificate records are public. The reference on a certificate resolves to a page on this site showing the holder's name, the course, the hours, and the date of issue. That is the point of it — a certificate nobody can check is not worth much. If you are not comfortable with your name appearing on such a page, do not complete a course.

We may revoke a certificate obtained through misrepresentation, account sharing, or circumvention of the viewing requirement. A revoked certificate keeps its verification page and is marked as revoked, so anyone holding a copy can tell.

7. CPT hours

Please read this one

We state the CPT hours each course carries and record them on your certificate. We cannot guarantee that any particular professional body, regulator, or employer will accept those hours towards its own requirements. Different bodies recognise different providers and apply their own rules.

If the hours need to count towards a specific requirement, confirm with that body before enrolling. We would rather tell you this plainly now than have you find out at the end of a CPT year.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share your account, or let anyone else complete a course or an assessment on your behalf
  • download, record, copy, or redistribute any course recording or material
  • attempt to circumvent the viewing requirement or the assessment
  • reproduce our assessment questions or answers, anywhere, for any purpose
  • attempt to gain access to another learner's account or data

9. Intellectual property

All course recordings, written material, assessments, and the design of this site belong to us or our licensors. Enrolling gives you a right to view the material, not to own or reuse it. You may of course use what you learn in your professional work — that is what it is for.

10. Availability and liability

We work to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, faults, and third-party outages happen.

Course material is educational and general in nature. It is not legal, compliance, or professional advice, and must not be relied on as a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. Regulatory requirements change; a recording reflects the position when it was made.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the course in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any regulatory or professional consequence arising from your reliance on course material.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us — though see our privacy policy on why certificate records are retained even after an account is closed.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or on the site before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this version was published.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Hong Kong courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
